A high-ranking OPP officer who was fired yesterday says he was shown the door because the Ford government is attempting to muzzle him.
Community Safety Minister Sylvia Jones says there was no political involvement in the decision to get rid of Brad Blair.
He's been a thorn in the side of the premier since he went public with concerns over a plan to hire a friend of the premier — Toronto police superintendent Ron Taverner– to be the next OPP commissioner.
Blair filed court documents today in which he argues the firing is connected to his efforts to get the ombudsman to investigate Taverner's hiring.
