Ontario Premier Doug Ford is in Muskoka today visiting businesses in Huntsville and Bracebridge and already a protest is being planned.
CP24 quoted Ford earlier this week as saying “I'm going up to Muskoka on Friday for a $25 dinner, a spaghetti dinner, to talk to the real people. I encourage everyone to come out Friday to listen to the great things that this government has done for the common folk.”
A protest organised on FB concerns the spaghetti dinner, which the page says is happening at the Bracebridge Legion between 6 and 9 pm. The page was created by the Decent Work Network.
The FB Event Page “Urgent! Call To Action!” reads:
“Hello Friends and Allies,
Doug Ford will be in Bracebridge tonight for a PC Riding Spaghetti Dinner from 6pm-9pm
Let’s show Doug and Norm that we are not okay with the direction this party is taking us. With the attacks on Workers, Labour, Healthcare, Education, Students, Children..the list goes on. It’s more important than ever that we all work together to stop this government from taking this Province backwards.
Please Join the Parry Sound – Muskoka Decent Work Network call to action outside of the Bracebridge Legion 168 Muskoka Rd.
Bring your signs and voice!”
An assistant with Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller's office confirmed that the Premier is scheduled to appear at the Legion in Bracebridge between 6 and 8 pm tonight. She said the dinner is sold out.
Country 102 was told Ford and Miller wrapped up their Huntsville visit around 2 pm this afternoon after touring businesses in the Huntsville area.
