After years of grappling with internal bullying and harassment, the RCMP is getting some help.
The federal government is appointing civilian advisers to give aid.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale made the announcement this morning along with RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki.
Legislative changes will happen in the spring while members of an interim board will be in place by April 1st.
Officials say the board will focus on supporting the development of a strategy that puts people first.
The group will also help with RCMP business modernization and employee health and well-being.
It will be made up of 13 part-time appointees, including a chair and vice-chair.
However, the group won't be involved in active law-enforcement investigations or matters related to it.
