Police are searching for a woman who made off with stolen groceries recently in Barrie.
Barrie Police say a woman using reusable grocery bags to carry her selections through a local grocery store raised the suspicions of the store’s loss prevention officer (LPO) at a Bayfield Street grocery store around 6 p.m. on Thursday.
After noticing her placing items into her reusable shopping bag, the LPO then saw her leave the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. The LPO confronted her and tried to make an arrest, but she left the scene in a taxi. A plastic bin was also found in the cart, which contained another reusable shopping bag, full of stolen items.
The suspect is described as:
Female, white
25-35 years old
Wearing a black winter hat and black winter coat
