OPP in Central Region have responded to numerous deadly collisions over the last week and several of them have been alcohol-related.
Over the last week, police have attended 5 serious crashes resulting in 3 fatalities. They say alcohol/drug consumption played a role in a number of them.
Although Festive RIDE is over for the season, the OPP remind everyone that traffic safety continues to be the utmost priority for officers.
The OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Planning ahead is critical because any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
