The Barrie Colts end 2018 and their 5-game losing streak with a bang.
Ryan Suzuki led the way with a pair of goals for the Colts in helping beat the Owen Sound Attack 5-1 on Monday night.
Lucas Chiodo (1 goal, 2 assists) would open the scoring for Barrie just 48 seconds into the first period, their first goal in four games spanning 145:59.
Down 2-0, Sean Durzi would get the Attack on the board with a short-handed marker in the second period to cut the Colts' lead down to 2-1.
Suzuki's second goal of the game would restore Barrie's two-goal lead before the end of the frame.
Jacob Tortora and Ben Hawerchuk would add third period goals to seal the win for the Colts (16-19-1-0).
Jet Greaves would make 32 saves in the victory while Andrew MacLean stopped 30 shots for the Attack (19-14-1-2).
Barrie would score the only power play goal of the game on 3 opportunities, Owen Sound were 0-for-4.
The next game for the Attack is Wednesday night when they welcome the Guelph Storm to the JD McArthur Arena.
The Colts host the Erie Otters on Thursday.
