The North America Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) will once again be following Santa Claus' every move as he delivers presents to children around the world this Christmas.
CFB North Bay will be tracking Santa's sleigh once he enters Canadian airspace later tonight (MON).
Major Todd Walters (an Owen Sound native) says they keep an eye on any aircraft that is not on a flight plan.
He says Santa appears as an unknown on their radar and they have to takes steps to identify his sleigh.
Walters says Kringle-zero-one is the call sign this year.
He says two CF-18 fighter jets will be deployed from Quebec to escort Santa through Canadian airspace to Alberta where CF-18s from Cold Lake will take over.
Walters says the NORAD crew operates 365 days a year and this year his crew is scheduled to work on Christmas Eve.
He says no one wants to have to work on Christmas Eve but if they do there is no better assignment that this one.
