Despite the rain, David Phillips says keep dreaming of a white Christmas.
The Environment Canada Senior Climatologist says with flurries in the forecast tonight through December 25th and temperatures below freezing, don't give up hope.
Everyone may have their own Christmas card idea of what a white Christmas should look like.
Environment Canada considers it a white Christmas if there is at least 2 cm of snow on the ground.
Phillips says people living in Barrie north to Muskoka and the Georgian Bay area have the best odds of waking up to at least some snow on the lawn Christmas morning.
He says much of southern Ontario will see green that day.
Whatever happens, it will be a far cry from last year when there was 30 cm of snow on the ground and frigid temperatures.
Phillips predicts while a white Christmas will blanket 80 per cent of the country, 80 per cent of Canadians will have a green Christmas because major cities like Victoria, Vancouver, Toronto, Regina, Halifax, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax aren't likely to see much if any snow.
