OPP are advising store owners to get rid of their ATM if they don't need it.
The alert from provincial police and their counterparts in Hamilton follows a rise in break-ins where ATM's are stolen.
In the past two weeks, a gas station on Highway 11 north of Orillia had ATM's stolen on separate days, and on Saturday, an ATM was swiped from a gas station in Gravenhurst.
In these incidents, a strap was put around the ATM's and a pickup truck was used to yank them out.
Police say they are asking store owners if they really need the machines and is it worth the risk?
