Another piece of the puzzle has come together for the Mariposa House Hospice.
The province will provide funding for 5 hospice beds.
Another 5 beds will be allocated to Hospice Huronia in Penetanguishene.
The five-bed residential Mariposa House will be built in Severn Township on Brodie Drive, just outside the Orillia city limits.
Construction should begin in April 2019 and be completed by the fall.
Mariposa is currently in the middle of a $3.5 million capital campaign.
Funding has also been received from the County of Simcoe ($300,000 over 3 years) and Severn Township ($50,000).
There are currently no residential hospices between Barrie and Huntsville.
