A 29-year-old Innisfil man is facing a slew of charges after a RIDE stop led to a foot chase and the seizure of a lot of drugs.
On Friday around 9 pm South Simcoe Police were conducting a RIDE program on the 6th Line between County Rd. 4 and 10th Sideroad in Innisfil.
A vehicle entered the check point and an officer detected marijuana.
Suspected cannabis was also seen to be readily available in the vehicle.
As police tried to arrest the male driver, he ran off, leading officers on a foot chase.
He was arrested a short distance away.
As a result, officers seized a large quantity of drugs, including suspected crack cocaine, crystal meth, heroin, marijuana and a drug believed to be a combination of fentanyl and carfentanil.
Some cash and drug paraphernalia were also seized.
The accused who is charged with Drug trafficking and other offences, was held in custody for a bail hearing on today.
