The Barrie Police Service has laid several charges in relation to a sexual assault that took place in Barrie in early November.
On Friday, November 9th, just before 3 p.m., police responded to a report of a sexual assault in a wooded area between Red Oak Drive and Farmstead Crescent. A female victim was taken to hospital and treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Following the release of a composite sketch, a second incident was reported to police. This occurred on Tuesday, October 2nd between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m., in the area of Ardagh Road and Eaglestone Lane. The victim didn't suffer any physical injuries
Police have now charged a 39-year-old Barrie man with Sexual Interference, Sexual Assault, and Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
The accused appeared in a Barrie Court this morning and has been remanded into custody.
A court-imposed Publication Ban is in effect and no further information can be released at this time.
