A 28-year-old woman has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose following a domestic incident in Innisfil.
On Tuesday around 7pm police responded to a 911 call where a woman told police she had been assaulted by her spouse.
Instead, police determined the spouse had been assaulted with a weapon.
A 27-year-old Innisfil man declined medical attention for a minor injury and the woman was arrested, charged and later released with a future court date.
Police say they recovered a weapon at the scene.
