Simcoe County's new LINX bus service from Barrie to Midland and Penetanguishene has exceeded expectations.
An update is on the agenda for today's Simcoe County Committee of the Whole meeting.
The staff report says when the LINX transit system was rolled out in August, it was estimated that almost 69 hundred people would use the new system, which also goes to Elmvale and takes riders to the Barrie hospital.
But actual ridership from August to the end of October was over 85-hundred.
The report says staff are working toward the launch of two new bus routes in August 2019.
They are from Orillia to Barrie and a route from Collingwood/Wasaga Beach and Stayner to Barrie.
