A call from a citizen about a possible impaired driver resulted in charges for a 46-year-old
Bradford man.
On Sunday around 11:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the parking lot of a grocery store on Melbourne Dr. in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
A caller had reported that a man who appeared unsteady on his feet left the
store with a bottle of wine and drove off.
Officers stopped the vehicle on Lynn St. and detected an odour of alcohol along with other signs of impairment.
The driver was arrested for Impaired Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 and was taken to South Division where tests resulted in readings of twice the legal limit alcohol.
The man was charged, his driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and
the vehicle he was in was impounded for seven days.
