Today (Nov 5) through Friday (Nov 9) is curbside battery collection in Orillia, Barrie and Simcoe County.
The program is for single use batteries only such as AAA, AA, A, C, D and so on.
Disposable bags were mailed to households in the County and Barrie back in September, while Orillia residents are asked to place spent batteries in a sealed clear plastic bag and place it on top of their recycling box for paper.
The program does not include apartment buildings.
In 2017, Simcoe County ranked first in the province, collecting 24 tonnes of batteries.
