An injured couple who videotaped their encounter with South Simcoe Police was the evidence the Special Investigations Unit used to determine no charges will be laid against any officers.
A 51 year old man and a 25 year old woman suffered minor injuries when they were arrested in July 2017.
The two were called to Innisfil Beach Park because their son had been in a car crash and was being confronted by others.
When the couple arrived, police were already on scene, and according to the cell phone video, the SIU says the 15 minute tape clearly shows the pair were disruptive and non-compliant, despite efforts by officers to calm the situation.
The SIU says the injuries the couple sustained were the result of their actions and not of the police.
