Rama First Nation is already known for its high stakes business at Casino Rama, now there is another high coming to the community.
A pot-production facility with at least 100 jobs will open in Rama, part of a joint venture with GrowForce.
First Nations would grow and distribute cannabis for retail sale.
The facility could be operational within 18 months.
Chief Rodney Noganosh says they chose to work with GrowForce because of their strong financial backing from Bridging Finance, an Indigenous-led company, along with industry-leading safe cannabis product management facilities.
