The Ontario Federation of Labour is heading up a Day of Action today, with at least 50 rallies scheduled across the province to protest the Ford government's plan to scrap Bill 148, titled “The Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act.”
The bill was passed by the previous Liberal government.
It includes the $15 minimum wage, set to kick in January 1st.
The Day of Action has also been organized by the Fight for $15.
In Simcoe County, a rally is happening at 4:15 this afternoon outside the Alliston constituency office of Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson, who is also minister of economic develop, job creation and trade.
This demonstration is being hosted by educators and the Barrie and District Labour Council.
