A candidate for Barrie City Council in this month's municipal election is facing charges in an extortion investigation.
41-year-old Harry Amhed was arrest by Barrie Police on Friday.
The investigation is being conducted by Barrie Police with the help from the Biker Enforcement Unit, a mutli-agency partnership led by the OPP.
Amhed is running for the Councillor seat in Ward 5.
He was scheduled to have a court hearing yesterday.
The investigation is still ongoing.
