Greenhaven Women's Shelter has been nominated for the Aviva Community Fund and needs the support of Orillia-area residents.
The nomination will help fund a Play Zone at a new $7.2 million shelter Greenhaven plans to open on Sundial Drive in 2020.
The Play Zone will be for women of children to play outside.
The area will include a walking path, a story time amphitheatre, a dinosaur dig, a multi-use play structure, sand play and log climbing gym and outdoor patio, with room for social gatherings.
Greenhaven is asking area residents to vote online for the PlayZone proposal.
Voting takes place from September 25 (Tues) at noon until October 4 (Thurs).
