Local police forces and OPP are reminding all drivers to be on the lookout for more children as school starts back up tomorrow (Tues).
Police officers will be increasing enforcement near schools and in school zones to educate motorists, students and parents of the importance of traffic safety especially during the school day.
All motorists must yield to pedestrians waiting to cross the road, and be prepared to stop at cross walks or for crossing guards.
Drivers should keep and eye out, especially when turning, for children stepping off the curb.
Officers will be actively looking for drivers who disobey the flashing lights of school buses, which carries a penalty of six demerit points and a fine of up to $2,000 for a first-time offender.
