After burning for over a month, the Ministry of Natural Resources has declared the Parry Sound 33 forest fire under control.
The 113 square kilometre blaze forced evacuations in some communities and threatened to cross Highway 69.
As of Thursday afternoon, the MNR said there were 28 other fires in northeastern Ontario, including one that is not under control.
There have been over 11-hundred forest fires in the province so far this year compared to 644 at this time last year.
