Orillia council has approved a plan to move the waterfront development forward.
The city says the approval of this implementation plan will allow staff to start the request for proposals process which is an important first step towards private development of the site.
The plan comes after months of research and legal work to determine the best way to move forward council's preferred waterfront development concept for 70 Front Street North.
It's believed the call for proposals will happen in the first part of 2019 followed by the selection of a purchaser/developer.
