More time is needed on where to build a new sewage pumping station in Orillia.
A motion approving the Cedar Island Road location has been postponed once again.
Council on Thursday granted a request by Councillor Tim Lauer to delay the decision for another 30 days.
Council also directed staff to prepare a report on putting the new pumping station next to the current one on Elgin Street.
Lauer says there has been a lot of concern expressed by residents who live near the proposed location.
He says Council and the City have to take those concerns into account.
Many of the concerned residents were at the Council meeting, two made their views known during the open public forum.
Lauer says staff had selected the site on Cedar Island Road because it is in a central area and it is on an ideal level.
He says the most important reason the site was chosen was that it is on municipally-owned land.
There was a suggestion that if the pumping station project is delayed, it could impact on other waterfront redevelopment projects.
Lauer says it is a long process with a lot of hoops that they need to go through.
He says if things get moved around, other projects may have to be pushed back for a quite a length of time.
