An 83 year old Bradford woman sitting on her veranda was the victim of an alleged theft.
Police say that on Thursday around 4:30 P.M., a vehicle had stopped in front of a home in the Simcoe Road and William Street area and a woman approached the front porch.
The suspect talked to the lady on the porch and allegedly touched her hand while she secretly removed some jewelry.
Police say the suspect gave the victim some fake jewelry before leaving in the vehicle.
The suspect is described as white and slightly overweight. The second suspect in a man who was driving the light coloured vehicle.
A similar distraction theft occurred two hours earlier at a parking lot on Anne and Vespra Streets in Barrie.
A woman fitting the same description but wearing a bandana and long flower-print dress approached another woman asking her for directions to the hospital.
She came out of the vehicle to speak to her and proceeded to remove jewelry from her hand and replace it with fakes.
She went back in the vehicle (possibly a silver Pontiac Sunfire) which had a male driver and another female occupant inside.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
