Charges have now been laid after a five year old child was found with head injuries near railway tracks in Brampton.
The boy went missing early Thursday morning from his home in the area of McHardy Court and McMurchy Avenue.
Authorities say the boy's mother woke up at around 6am and noticed the child was gone and the front door was open.
He was found shortly before 7am unconscious and suffering from a head injury.
The boy was taken to a Toronto trauma centre with life threatening injuries.
On Thursday, a 28 year old man from Brampton, who was known to the child, was charged with attempted murder and other offences.
