This was a team effort that resulted in the arrest of a man following a hit and run on Highway 400 near Highway 88 on Thursday.
OPP say the suspect vehicle kept going northbound, followed by several witnesses, who tailed the driver to the Tanger Outlet Mall on Highway 89 in Cookstown, and once in the parking lot they boxed in the vehicle.
There was a brief scuffle.
Officers from South Simcoe Police and OPP took the 61 year old male into custody and charged him with a number of offences including assault, driving under the influence and dangerous driving.
He was taken to hospital for injuries suffered as a result of the collision.
