A big fundraiser for the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is coming up.
The second annual Move to Give event goes Saturday April 30th at all eight of their centres in Barrie, Orillia, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Innisfil, Gravenhurst, Midland, and Parry Sound.
Coordinator of Events and Peer-to-Peer Support Adam Brown says the Move to Give is their marquee fundraising event.
He says they had a number of fundraisers under different banners and were able to consolidate them into one event.
Brown says money raised from the event goes towards helping fund their programs.
He says those programs include child care, seniors, employment, literacy, and immigrant services.
Brown says there are a 5K runs in Orillia and Midland, a fitness day in Barrie and Wasaga Beach.
He says in Gravenhurst there is something called Tug of Oars similar to Tug of War only competitors are in boats and paddle their way to victory.
The goal for this year’s campaign is to raise $85,000.
