The Orillia Salvation Army Kettle campaign suffering the same fate as the national campaign..donations are down substantially.
Linda Goodall is the Community Ministries co-ordinator for the Orillia Salvation Army and says the local campaign is about four thousand dollars below from where they were last year at this time.
She says one reason for that is that a lot of people don’t carry cash any more and use their debit cards instead.
However Goodall says volunteers will be out all week long with the christmas kettles.
This years goal is 85 thousand dollars and Goodall says all of the money stays in Orillia to support their community projects
