The Uptergrove Public School annual stamp out hunger food drive this past weekend a huge success.
Teacher Dave Clark has been helping out with the food drive for the past six years and he says the kids from the school along with numerous community volunteers collected thousands and thousands of food items.
TheĀ main event, canvassing Orillia, Ramara and Rama First Nation, took place over the weekend, bringing in nearly 30,000 food items.
Clark says they are getting close to collecting one million food items.
So far the food drive has collected more than 865 thousand food items and Clark is hoping by the time its finished this December 22nd, they will have collected more than one million food items.
