Happy birthday to Sunshine 89.1 in Orillia.
It was one year ago today that Orillia’s newest radio station signed on the air for the very first time.
General Manager Ron Funnell says it was a proud moment for him to bring to life a station that was committed to the local community.
He says that commitment saw the radio station involved in more than 80 core community events over the past 12 months, including a huge partnership with the Mariposa Folk Festival.
Funnell says Sunshine 89.1 take its mandiate of being the voice for and of the community very seriously.
He says the radio station also have been a strong supporter of local business and as the community supports its own local radio station, so too does the radio station support the community.
