More than 60 supporters marched to Midland’s City Hall in hopes of preventing the construction of a waste transfer station next to St. Marie Among the Hurons and the Martyrs Shrine. Father Peter Bisson submitted over 5000 letters of protest and over 100 of these letters were submitted by supporters of surrounding areas, Simcoe County and abroad. Midland Council has not yet made a decision regarding construction of the waste transfer site.
