A decision regarding camping at Tudhope Park during the Mariposa Folk Festival has been postponed.
Following endless back-and-forth debate, council voted in favour of a motion by Mayor Angelo Orsi to postpone making a decision until the first Council Committee meeting in January.
The rationale behind this is to give the City enough time to prepare a report recommending rules and regulations for camping at city parks.
Councillors Patrick Kehoe and Linda Murray were both quite vocal in their demands for the rules to be in place before considering any further requests for camping at Tudhope.
Councillor Michael Fogarty says he wants to make sure all stakeholders must be consulted with in order to prevent any more delays on the subject.
The staff report will be presented at the January 9th Council Committee meeting.
