Its not on the same scale as the drug wars in Mexico, but criminals are targeting other criminals here in Simcoe County to steal their crop of marijuana.
OPP Constable Peter Leon says some one who has harvested the Marijuana crop could now be drying it out and processing it in their basement
He says other criminal elements are now targeting those producers to attempt to steal their crop.
Leon says they are also concerned that innocent by standers could be injured as well.
He says those targeting the drug producers home may get the house mixed up with one near by and there could be an accidental home invasion of a totally innocent family.
Leon says what is concerning the OPP is there is a lot of these incidents taking place in this area where the criminals are targeting other criminals.
Leon says this is a warning for not just the drug producers that they could be putting themselves at risk but also the safety of their families and other occupants who may be living in their home.
