Lots of smiles around the Orillia and Thunder Bay campus of Lakehead University these days after the release earlier this week of the MacLeans Magazine University rankings.
This year Lakehead ranks second over all of all undergraduate Universities in Ontario, and 11th over all nationally.
Lakehead Vice President Dr. Rodney Hanley says one of the reasons for the Universities success is because of its faculty and staff and the attention they put towards providing the highest quality student experience possible.
He says another reason Lakehead is ranked so high is the fact its a smaller University that provides a more intimate educational experience.
Dr. Hanley says Lakehead was first in total research dollars, Social Science and Humanities grants and Library holdings and funding.
He says the University also scored high in the student faculty ratio and scholarships and bursaries and faculty awards.
