A fun and educational event taking place today and tomorrow at ODAS Park on Fairgrounds Road. It’s the “Race Against Drugs” a community based drug and alcohol awareness program, offered to Grade 5 students across Simcoe-Muskoka.
The primary objective of this drug education event is to utilize the sport of auto racing, to capture the attention of young people and communicate with them, as they move and interact through each pit stop, learning key messages about the importance of a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. They will interact community partners staffing the pit stops.
This year the event organizers are excited to welcome our very own local top dragster in car racing. Melanie Simmons and her dragster will be taking part at one of the pit stops. She will be there speaking to the students about the importance of a drug and alcohol free body.
