MacLeans Magazine is out with its 21st. ranking of the best Universities in Canada and Lakehead University here in Orillia and Thunder Bay has improved over last years ranking.
For the seventh year in a row McGill University in Montreal has been ranked the best University in the country with the University of Toronto placing second and the University of British Columbia coming in third.
In the category of Undergraduate studies, Lakehead University here in Orillia and Thunder Bay has placed 11th up one from last years ranking of 12th.
Lakehead is tied in that position with Laurentien University in Sudbury.
Mt. Allison University in New Brunswick took the top spot in the Undergraduate Studies category.
In the Comprehensive Category, Simon Fraser University , the University of Victoria , the University of Waterloo , the University of Guelph , and Memorial University all maintain their top-five positions.
Macleans considers 14 numerical indicators of the quality of students, faculty, libraries and finances to rank 49 universities. Each is placed in one of three categories to recognize differences in levels of research funding, offerings, and the range of graduate programs.
