Orillia OPP Received some help from a concerned citizen when trying to arrest an drunk driver Sunday evening in Ramara Township on the the Monck Road.
The suspect vehicle was travelling westbound and was observed swerving all over the road
When the officer arrived he observed the suspect’s pick up truck stopped sideways across the middle of the road.
The driver and his passenger were both consuming alcohol upon police arrival.
The officer approached the vehicle and attempted to arrest the driver who continued to drink his beer
The lone officer then attempted to arrest the driver who was uncooperative, refusing to follow his instructions.
A witness who was at the scene came to the aid of police and assisted the officer in restraining the struggling driver so that he could be handcuffed.
A 65 year old Ramara Township man now facing numerous charges.
