Late yesterday afternoon, Orillia OPP were called to the scene of collision involving a motorist and a cyclist, at the intersection of Front and Coldwater.
A 13-year old male cyclist was travelling eastbound on Coldwater and crossing the intersection when a motorist making a right hand turn on to Front struck him.
The boy was taken to Soldier’s Memorial where he was treated for minor injuries and released. The 76-year old male driver of Orillia was charged with failing to yield to traffic.
Police want to remind all cyclists under the age of 18, that the law requires them to wear a helmut at all times.
