A a 30-year old Collingwood male has been arrested and now being assessed under the Mental Health Act at Orillia’s Soldiers Memorial Hospital following a crime spree in parts of Simcoe County.He is facing numerous charges.
Orillia OPP report a he man entered several parked cars in the Henry Street area in Barrie.
He then stole one of the vehicles and headed Northbound on Highway 11.
At Bay Park Road, the stolen vehicle was involved in a collision and the driver and fled the scene on foot.
He then broke into several cottages, out buildings and vehicles in the Bay Park Road and Highway 11 area.
Orillia OPP officers attended the scene but were unable to locate the wanted person.
However yesterday morning, the Orillia OPP responded to a disturbance call in the City and the 30-year old Collingwood suspect was located at the residence and arrested.
The majority of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owners
