The 6th Annual Dragon Boat Festival will be held this weekend in Orillia at Couchiching Beach Park.
Registration begins at 7 o’clock Saturday morning (sept 24) with the races beginning shortly after 8 o’clock.
In the last 4 years the festival has seen over 250 thousand dollars in cash pledged to local charities – in addition to over 100 thousand dollars of in-kind donations.
The Community Foundation of Orillia is hosting the Dragon Boat Festival.
Executive Director Marilyn De Lang says there will be 28 teams participating this year.
In addition to the race, there will be concessions set up for spectators as well as an area for young children.
