The City of Orillia will be hosting business people and government officials from Nantong City, China.
The delegation is due to arrive at Orillia City Hall Friday morningĀ at around 9:30 and will spend a couple of hours in the city.
They will be met by members of city council and other dignataries.
Dan Landry, Manager of Economic Development, says the purpose of the visit is to initiate a relationship with Nantong City – with hopes of growing a formal Sister City relationship.
Landry says there is a great deal of local interest among the business community in expanding into the Chinese market.
Nantong City is located on the Yangtze River near the East Coast of China – it has a population of over 7 million.
