A groundbreaking ceremony for Orillia’s newest retirement residence will take place today at one o’clock. The Jarlette Health Services project will be called the Leacock Retirement Lodge and will be located on a neighbouring property to the Leacock Care Centre at 298 Forest Anvenue North.
There has been several years of planning and research on the project and Jarlette’s Director of Retirement Communities Operations, Jackie Dusome says they are eager to get underway and they will be on site today to unveil floor plans and amenities as well as answer questions after today’s groundbreaking.
Jarlette was founded by husband and wife Alex and Bobbie Jarlette of Midland in 1970 and is now run by their son David They operate 12 long term care homes and 6 retirement lodges in the province.
The Orillia Lodge is due to open in 2013.
