Simcoe County adding another 100 acres of forest to its inventory.
The County has acquired a piece of property called the Cooper Tract, in the Hillsdale area.
Simcoe County Forester Graeme Davis about this special piece of property and was originally purchased in 1911 by Thomas Cooper who immediately embarked on a plan to improve the property.
Davis says the addition of the new Cooper Tract to the County Forests reinforces the Countys commitment to the preservation of our natural heritage and brings to 31thousand 289 acres now under the control of the county.
He says this is a great addition to the county’s existing forest inventory.
