The Simcoe County District School Board has now set a date for the first Accomodation Review Committee meeting dealing with the future of Moonstone Elementary School.
The Board says the ARC meeting involving Coldwater Public School, Moonstone Elementary School, Warminster Public School will take place Thursday Sept. 29th at Moonstone Elementary School starting at 7pm.
The board decision to close the Moonstone school has local parents up in arms and they have been actively fighting that proposal for the past several months.
The parents argue there is no need to close the school because enrolment has in fact increased not declined.
They also maintain the school is the heart of the community and shutting it down would be a disaster for the future of Moonstone.
