Canada Post officials concerned about the number of letter carriers being bitten by dogs in the Orillia area.
There have been three dog bite incidents in August alone and Canada Post Communications Manager Tom Creech says that is unusual and disturbing.
Canada post is pleading with dog owners to control their animals and keep them away from areas where the mail is dropped off.
Chreech says if a letter carrier encounters an overly aggressive and potentially dangerous dog, they have to option to not deliver the mail to that residence.
He says they people to be responsible with their animals.
Creech says dogs can and will bite especially if they are protecting their home Territories.
He says letter carriers are susceptible and Canada Post is asking pet owners to keep dogs inside or tied in a safe location when the mail is being delivered
