A Professor at theĀ Orillia Campus of Lakehead University says he is not surprised at the amount of affection being displayed for the Late NDP Leader Jack Layton.
Paul Carr says Layton was a person who cared about people and wanted to improve the lot of the poor and the country.
He says this is something Layton was doing well before he became the leader of the NDP and was well know for his good works while a councillor in Toronto.
Carr says Layton had very deep convictions but was very reasonable in arguing those positions.
He says this outpouring of love for Layton from so many people from so many different sectors is overwhelming.
Carr says Layton’s death bed letter to Canadians, to those battling cancer, to Quebecers and young people is a kind of testament to the kink of person Jack Layton really was.
