The Simcoe County School Board once again reassuring parents there is no danger from the use of wi fi transmitters in the classroom of elementary schools.
Superintendent of Facility Services John Dance is responding to claims from a parents group that wi fi radiation is making kids sick.
He says in November of last year, they brought an expert in from the University of Toronto to measure the wi fi gradation at a number of county schools, and in every case the levels were well below the standards set by Health Canada.
Dance says those results were presented to the board early in the new year and are now posted on the School Board’s web site.
He says as a result of that study, he and other School Board members are convinced that wireless is a very safe technology.
Dance says wireless communication is where we are going and the School Board is on the cutting edge of this technology to ensure their students can be competitive in the economy of tomorrow.
