The countdown to the start of the Ontario election campaign is underway with just 28 days left before the writ will be dropped at Queens park.
It is expected that the election will begin September 6th with voting day on October 6th.
Already the candidates are fine tuning their campaigns.
The NDP candidate for Simcoe North Doris Middleton says job creation in this riding will be the top issue she will be addressing.
She says while this region has a lot going for it in terms of recreation and educational opportunities, good playing jobs is something that is lacking.
Middleton says strengthen the small business sector is one way of stimulating the local economy and creating good paying jobs.
She also says providing breaks for students and graduating medical doctors and nurses is something the NDP will do if elected to encourage them to move to rural areas.
Middleton also says there is one tax cut that the NDP would be implementing.
That would be getting rid of the HST on such things like electricity and home heating fuel.
